Choose one specific topic from your readings. For example, you may choose to talk ONLY about the 20-hour rule and its implications for student athletes. Or you may choose to talk ONLY about the impacts of Kaepernick's kneeling on youth participation in sports activism. It does NOT even have to be about sports! Maybe you'll just be debating the legalization of marijuana and its impacts on college culture. Or maybe you'll just be talking about different coping mechanisms.

Try to make it very specific and think about what the goal of this podcast is. Is it to inform the public about a topic or is it to debate the implications of a topic?

A moderator effectively facilitates the discussion and keeps the momentum going; The questions asked by the moderator help to pinpoint key themes for the listener to think about.

Each panelist contributes equally. panelists take turns, interacting with others and expanding on ideas.

This panel discussion should NOT be a series of presentations by each panelist or a repetition of the same points by different panelists. Rather, it should be a discussion on key themes.

Choose a visual that relates to a topic from your group sources. This should NOT be data driven or statistical. It can be just a photo, a social media post, an advertisement, a video from a game, an animation, etc. Add a CAPTION of this image. What is it that you want to convey through this image? Take a moment to discuss with your group to interrogate and unpack any assumptions you may have about this image and what you might be privileging as viewers. The caption should be about 3-4 sentences.

Remember that this group project is a stepping stone into our individual first projects. You do not have to stick to your group topic. You can choose a topic from any of the four Padlets. So here, let's give your Padlet viewers some ideas of topics and questions to answer for the first project.

How can you/we extend what the source is saying based on our observations or experiences; other things we have read; current issues or events or debates?

What if anything in the text challenged your own attitudes or beliefs on the issues discussed?

What types of questions stem out of these sources that we want to know more about?

For example, if your group topic was about fandom, a topic to investigate further could be "superteams", and a research question related to this could be: "How do superteams and its fans affect team and player dynamics in the NBA?".

Provide TWO options here of topics --> research questions.

For each research question, provide one secondary source (not scholarly) you think would be interesting for your peers, that is related to this new topic. Provide a 3-4 sentence summary of each source.
