1.  If you see a student demonstrating one of the 3Rs.
2.  Fill out the positive referral form and turn it in to Catie.
3.  Catie will have me sign it, I will write a comment and announce it during morning announcements.
4.  The filled out form will be placed in your box for the student to take home.

Learning Center staff will be working with a small group while the classroom teacher is meeting with another reading group.  The purpose is for LC staff to focus on reading comprehension with students. 
 
Here is what Learning Center staff will be focusing on:
 
Learning Center Staff
Focus on reading (listening and speaking)
Decodable Books - K and 1 (after teachers have taught books on Day 4, 5)
  • Use reading routine protocol
 
Book in a Bag lesson (Leveled Text)  - Kindergarten through Fifth Grade 
  • Use reading routine protocol and focus on First Read in Teaching Guide and Text Evidence cards
  • Support staff should not be working with the lowest group of readers
 

Here is what teachers can do to assist in preparation for Learning Center staff to push-in:
 
Teachers
Please have an area cleared and ready to go for LC staff to use. (table/chairs; student desks grouped)
Please select the group of students that staff will be working with during small group instruction.
Please assign the same group of students to the Learning Center staff for at least 6 weeks.  
Please select the “book in a bag” that LC staff will use with their groups.
If there is a decodable book for students to practice, please have that ready to go for the groups needing this practice. (Kinder and First)
Please be sure to keep your lowest students during small group instruction
