https://funandfunction.com/writerighttm-pencil-grip-and-trainer.html?gclid=CIfn1rHL58sCFU5ahgodj0QKPQ
A pencil grip is a little object, usually rubber but also sometimes foam or hard plastic, that goes around the bottom of a pencil to help children know where to put their fingers/hand and to hold a writing utensil properly and functionally. There a tons of different models, but they all have the same common goal. They support UDL by providing options or expression and communication by using another tool to aid in composition and construction of language. By simply having the pencil grips available, you are also optimizing access to tools and assistive technologies to help students succeed in writing and communicating. Also, depending on how "cool" or flashy the grip is, it could also provide engagement and interest to the student by making it feel like a privilege or incentive to be using the special tool when really its only helping them.

First of all, it highlights a single line at a time which changes the contrast as well with the yellow filtered strip. Secondly, it also blocks out multiple lines on either side of the line being read. This tool supports UDL by offering options for perception by customizing the display of information but also by helping keep the reader focused by minimizing the area to be read and not distracting or overwhelming the reader with the lines surrounding the current one.

It then has 4 other options that show the numbers directly around the main number and how they are related. It can help teach patterns on a number grid and also help students practice because it doesn't show the other numbers until the flaps are opened. Students could guess and check. It supports UDL by providing options for math language visually and highlighting patterns and relationships between numbers. By blocking out the other numbers around the main window, it also helps eliminate distractions and keeps the student from getting overwhelmed by the rest of the grid.

You can pick from images within the app or upload your own images to be linked to your phrases. It costs $49.99 in the iTunes store. This app supports UDL by using multiple media for communication (images and audio) and by being so easily customizable for the user. It is also very possible for fluencies to be built up to higher levels with continued use and practice by the user and modeling and support by the instructor.

Its really helpful because it is very easily customized by the user or teacher/parent. There could be endless options for images/words/phrases that can be moved around and switched out depending on what scenario the user needs. This supports UDL because it offers many options for expression and communication needs and can be built up to higher levels of communication with practice and use when the user is ready and comfortable with it.

It is similar to a normal abacus in that is has multiple rows of sliding manipulatives for counting, however instead of just colored balls or beads, each row is a different coin. It supports UDL by providing options for mathematical expressions, language, and symbols. It could help clarify that different coins are worth different amounts and it illustrates through manipulatives to help make it even clearer. It also helps keep it more organized since the coins are stuck in distinct lines and won't get all mixed together and distracting so it also might help keep the student interested and less threatened/distracted when it comes to figuring out coin values.

It has a little camera that captures and magnifies whatever is under it. It is also small enough that it can be carried around in a purse or bag easily to be used on the go and out in public settings (menus, signs, etc.) It supports UDL because it helps represent the images/text in a way that is more accessible to the user. It appears as though the bottom portion of the line is also highlighted to differentiate between the top half and the bottom half of the line. The lines are raised (I assume a similar type of embossment as Braille would be) to help students know where to start and stop their letters on the lines.
It supports UDL by providing options for expression and communication through using varied tools for construction and composition. By providing this paper with raised lines and also the highlighted portion, you are varying the tool used to communicate through writing. This is important for students who may have trouble writing on regular paper due to poor fine motor control and end up writing all over the page. This paper might help control the student's handwriting enough that they would be able to write in class just like the other kids and maybe practice enough to eventually move onto regular paper. The yellow strip also helps with students learning handwriting. It can help show which parts of the letters go below the middle line and which parts go above.

The app supports UDL by providing alternate options for expression and communication. It provides the user with an alternative tool to aide in communication for if they have a speech disability that makes them hard to understand or if they are completely nonverbal.

https://getcoldturkey.com
Cold Turkey is a software that blocks certain websites at certain times to help eliminate distraction while you are trying to do homework or study. You can set it to block you from certain websites and apps for whatever periods of time you need, and it also has the option to allow break periods intermittently during your block so you can alternate between work and breaks like Facebook or email for example. It supports the UDL concept of providing options for recruiting interest by minimizing possible threats and distractions while doing work or studying for a test or quiz. Without the possibility of being able to even check social media or play games for a minutes, you're more likely to finish the work so you can go back to your other "break" sites.
