This book is not meant for a weak stomach. I gave this book a 9/10 because it is so heartbreaking, but it shows what an incredible amount of resiliency Elizabeth had while being held. I think the greatest thing about her story is that she was capable of holding onto hope during the lowest point in her entire life.
Summary - Elizabeth Smart was only fourteen years old when she was taken from her home. This book tells her story of her nightmare, how she escaped, and her life now and the way this event has changed her.

Each and every day she has to wake up and find an ounce of hope no matter how small. It is extremely difficult for her to find that sense in her situation. She is constantly battling her self in order to stay alive. She starts as a frightened girl with no escape, but then grows up immediately once she escapes. She is now happier than she has ever been. Secondly, she was capable of removing her captors from her life. They are apart of her every single day of her life, constantly torturing her. Seven years later, she confronts them, and moves on.
