Our country has a national anthem which is our patriotic theme song and other pro-government songs that were used to promote patriotism through the years. Even in today's society with the drama around football players refusing to stand in observance and the president's response to it, our National Anthem has become the topic of a lot of political debate. However, some music is anti-government like the protest songs of the 1960's and 70's that spoke out against war.
