They usually have parties under them with food and drinks during the day and the night looking at the beauty of the flowers. The short life of the trees (less than two months) that blossom reminds people that life is short and the important thing is that we should enjoy every moment of it.

They say that a poor mother and her children found a Christmas tree in their garden but didn’t have money to decorate it. The children were sad that they couldn’t decorate it, so the mother put some fruits and nuts on the tree, because she believed that it would make her kids smile on Christmas day. But when they woke up the next morning, the tree had a spider’s web all over it, which became gold and silver in the morning light. So people in Ukraine put these Christmas decorations on their trees, because they think they will bring them good luck.
