Detective Dimon was tasked with determining the substance in the blood work. Her findings we're that there was a presence of anti-venom along with the allergy medication. To support this, Detective Debra conducted lab tests to the substance and determined that the substance present had a molecular weight of 765.82. The allergy medication is 167.16 and the anti-venom is 598.66. So both numbers would add up to the molecular weight of 765.82. Meaning the substance was a mixture of the allergy medication and anti-venom.

Detective Deanna investigated Joanna's apparent and found some medication that had Nelson's fingerprints on them. With those pills were some of Nelson's medication adding relevance to the case. She also investigated the emails finding that they supported the relevance because she was concerned the victim was avoiding her.

Detective Edward was to determine how he could've died given that he taken the allergy medication as prescribed and when supposed to. I found that he did take the medication as prescribed that day because the compound was present in his body as 167 amu by 5.0 in bloodwork, matching as if it would've been had he taken it a half hour before a meal.

It was determined that Nelson took his medication for his peanut allergy as prescribed but died of said allergy due to consumption of an unknown compound in the drink he shared with Sam. The unknown compound was 598 MW which matched with the anti-spider venom Sam developed which had a chemical structure C30H46O12 which adds up to 598 MW.

Detective Isaiah investigated the food at the crime scene and particularly the anti-venom, which as explained in Sam's report, it works to isolate a compound in the venom, said compound looks very similar to the compound used in the allergy medication Nelson was taking. Having drank Sam's drink with the compound in it more than likely could've cancelled out the effects of the medication and with Nelson having indulged heavily in peanuts and food products with traces of peanuts in them, his allergies returned undeterred resulting in his death. Isaiah determined that Sam knew the anti-venom would cancel out the allergy medication due to molecular similarities between it and spider venom.

With that considered, the evidence points to Nelson's death being a murder and Sam as the one who committed it. Sam's motivation was that he was jealous of Nelson and often had animosity towards him for receiving the credit in the company's breakthroughs. So Sam used his anti-venom, knowing that it would nullify the effects of the allergy medication. Nelson ingested the anti-venom via Sam's drink and Nelson endulged heavily in peanuts which he thought his medication would cover.

Summary

On 15/06/02 at 17:34 at the University Social Room, 24 year old Nelson Pohgline died of fatal anaphylaxis by choking in relation to allergies. The coroner's report stated that his blood work contained allergy medication and anti-toxin. Witnesses explained to the investigation that Nelson entered the social event and ate peanuts, a pie, and drank some punch from Sam. The investigation corroborated this by finding Nelson's fingerprints on the food table with the peanuts, pie, and drink. In the drink which also had Sam's fingerprints on it, investigators found an unknown compound inside which matched the anti-toxin described in Sam's anti-toxin report in his office. What was also found was that the anti-toxin worked to isolate compounds similar to the one matching the allergy medication. Considering that Nelson took his medication as prescribed and that he ate peanuts which he'd naturally be allergic to, the consumption of the drink with the anti-toxin mixed within it worked to nullify the effects of the allergy medication, allowing the allergies to flare up undeterred, resulting in Nelson's death. And given the factors that Sam's fingerprints were on the drink, the presence of the anti-toxin inside the drink, and his frosty relationship with Nelson due to jealousy, it's evident that Sam murdered Nelson.
