In the book we can see that the author used the word "insufficient" repeatedly. According to my opinion the author is trying to emphasize the difference between human and a computer with this word. Because scientist talk and try to find a solution with data that they have. However when they ask t the computer it says insufficient data. It can't think like a human but humans still expect an answer from a computer. It is like a ironi ı guess. In addition, it can be refer to the condition of the world. Insufficient data because the end of the world up to we.

The message that Asimov gives with using the word "insufficient" repeatedly is there is not a solution for saving things(Reviving genereal universe, stars.). In the story we can see all computers until page 11 says that there are insufficient data for solving the problem of stellar energy depletion.
