This was normally at night, when I didn't want to go to bed or I had a lot on my mind. I would knock and walk in. I would almost always see him playing some sort of game or doing home work on his computer at his desk. I would sit on his bed and spill my heart out or just sit in silence. I felt really seen and comfortable in that space. He would still play his game or do his work, but I know I had all his attention. He would always comfort me by saying kind words or hugging me. Every time I'm there, my teammates and coaches want to listen to what I have to say because it might benefit everyone. The gym is so big and open that there are so many people there and so many kids on my team and each one of them knows what it's like not to be heard sometimes or not at all. When I told a teammate something that might help her she used my way of doing it and it worked better. I know that I was seen, heard, and valued because she saw what I was doing, asked how I did it and used my way of doing things to help her. At one point, the coach told us someone had to go twice.
