Some things I took away from the presentation were the details of everything that goes into keeping someone safe or catching a criminal. I was surprised to learn that a lot of the officers in reynoldsburg have gotten C.I.T. training , which is something I think all cops should have. I have also realized that it is not always the officers fault for how they react to a scene , from what the dispatcher told them. I still believe it is unecessary to resort to shooting right away. I understand that the officers are just reacting to what the dispatcher has told them, but they also have the capability to asses the scene themselves and do what they can to try to not cause too much harm to either person. I think Officer Hines has opened a lot of peoples eyes about how just because one officer has done something bad, doesn't mean we should label every other officer as bad. And that most of the time we really do just focus on the bad things officers are doing, and not acknowledging the good that some of them do.

What I took away from the presentation was that, the actions of one officer does not reflect on other officers. I also realized that police officers are just like us in every way, so they should be treated just like everyone else. I agree on the fact that certain things can be misconstrued from what it actually is such as a toy gun can be seen as a actually weapon. One thing I will say though sometimes officers make mistakes, it is their jobs to make as least as possible, you can not just blame the caller all the time. One thing I will tell friends and family is that they need to always assess the situation in its full capacity before making any judgement calls.

I felt very interested and eager when the police officer was talking , I felt this way because the way things are now its very important you follow details especially around around police officers. Some things I took away were notify the police if you are doing something that looks suspicious but it belongs to you, and thats its not all cops that are bad. Something I agreed with is police are around to help the community not hurt us. Something I disagree with is the cops were trained to be very forceful I say this because you never know a persons condition and you cannot judge them off of what you do not know. Something I will share with family and friends is when getting stopped by a police officer put your hands on the wheel or even out the car because you never know what these cops are capable of. Also I want to thank officers Jackson & Hines to come share this important piece of advice with us yesterday

Something I took away from the presentation was that when individual police officers make a mistake or poor judgement, it is wrong for our society to hold the entire profession accountable for the individual's actions. It also put into perspective the officer's side of all the different situations that they are put in and the number of variables and dangerous variables that would make it reasonable for the officer to use his or her gun. However I still believe that officers need to be put through more training to know how to properly respond to a situation, even if it means fighting against their instinct to shoot. Also, Overall it's important to remember that just like we want to go home to our families at the end of the day, so do police officers. Something I will share is what to do during a traffic stop to be sure that you stay safe.

He made it so we understood that everyone makes mistakes and that includes police officers. I agree with him on that fact, he did not make it clear that officers should be held accountable for the mistakes they make. We see how officers are not held accountable time and time again which is frustrating to the public.I disagreed with the entire plan that officers are supposed to take out a threat or not follow up on reports to make sure they are correct and not false. Just because that one police officer decided to act the way he did does not mean all police officers are that way. I also learned that when callers call them and don't give enough description about the emergency, the officers just act off what they are told. I disagree with the whole come in and just act. Like when they came in that Walmart and shot the guy because somebody said "He's waving a gun." When officer Hines spoke to us about the different situations within what police are suppose to do what they are able to do. I was very well educated by what we're supposed to do when a cop pulls us over. There were a few things I would share with my family that was shared with me which was where to put your hands and the passenger not saying anything. Some other things that I learned on Friday was that not all cops are bad and cops have to all take classes in order to do their job correctly. Cops get fearful of the person/people that the might be facing. I didn't know that there were certain things that a cop could do that everyone might think is not right. Always make sure you do what the cop says and it's better to follow commands when not doing anything rather than being killed or hurt from going against what the cop has said to you.

I agreed that it is very hard to be a cop because you do have to make quick crucial decisions at the moment. I disagreed with the come in and act situation like the incident that happened to John Crawford in walmart.
