Vocalization progresses to several words. They also are able to obey simple commands. In this stage they are dependent on others for survival which they require love, care, warmth, and other physical comforts. </p>]]></description>

Their head no longer looks oversized for the body and teeth become present. The child is able to understand simple instructions, have short attention spans, attitudes, as well as temper tantrums. They are some what independent in skill learning but still dependent on others. Parents tend to be overly protective. </p>]]></description>

They speak quite well sentences and are aware of the people and their environment. Socially they tend to build confidence. Loss of muscle and bone atrophy ,immune system declines, and physical decline continues. Development of dementia is very common. This stage is when a person may lose spouses or friends and have increasing concerns about mental and physical health. Care during this stage is dependent on younger family members or retirement homes. </p>]]></description>
