They find out that Looper and the mayor are in kahoots and they have been CHEATING on the people of Ember! They decide to eventually announce it to the others, but don't know how. Finally, they find out that BOATS, a new thing to them, are things used to ride on water. They find out during nighttime, the moon comes out along with many other stars, and the sun gives a huge bright light without needing any electricity! They realize that Lina forgot to deliver the note, so theey decide to write a ote and drop it.
