Unlike regular textbooks, electronic books and web-based content are updated in real time, feeding students with the most current information they can get their hands on, helping them become more knowledgeable even outside the classroom setting.

From the way technological advancements are going, it is obvious that the future will be digital and technology-focused. “Avoid hurting someone’s feelings by emails or other forms of electronic communication; Respect other people’s online rights; Avoid insulting someone; If someone insults you be calm; Avoid ‘crashing’ discussion groups or fora; Respect the privacy of other people online; Be responsible online.”

People don’t bother to read, calculate or write without computers anymore in same time losing abilities of hand writing (why write if can use spell-checker), calculate without calculator even for minor addition, reading books (why read if there so much information in internet).

Pemasalahan ini boleh terjadi apa bila kanak-kanak didedahkan dengan permainan digital tampa pengawasa dan kawalan. 

Kecerdasan interpersonal mereka akan terbantut yang mana mereka hanya memikirkan mengenai permainan komputer semata-semata dan mewujudkan sifat sosio-emosi kanak-kanak yang mementingkan diri sendiri dan tidak mahu mengalah. 

2.  MENJEJASKAN KESIHATAN

Seterusnya, ICT memberi impak kesihatan yang buruk kepada kanak-kanak.  seperti masalah penglihatan  (Rabun jauh dan dekat), kekurangan zat makanan  disebabkan terlalu fokus kepada game sehinga mereka mengabaikan  masa makan yang boleh membawa maut.     Sebaliknya jika mereka melayari internet sambil makan  dimana  mereka akan makan makanan  segera yang akan mengakibatkan masalah kegemukan.

3.TERPENGARUH DENGAN BUDAYA TIDAK SIHAT

Sekiranya tidak dicegah,  penggunaan internet tanpa kawalan menyebabkan kanak-kanak mengetahui perkara yang melangkaui batas umur mereka seperti bahan pornografi yang begitu luas tersebar di internet. 

Kanak-kanak juga sering meniru aksi lasak  dan ganas yang dipaparkan di internet atau di kaca televiayen. Aksi lasak seperti bergusti,  begaduh,   rompakan,  merogol, dan  membunuh akan mempengaruhi kelakuan mereka  dimasa akan datang.

4.  KECELARUAN PENGGUNAAN BAHASA

Kebanyakan pengguna internet tidak menghiraukan akan laras bahasa yang betul semasa mereka menulis. Mereka sering menggunakan istilah yang direka sendiri yang akan mengelirukan seterusnyan menjadi ikutan kepada kanak-kanak.  

Kesan lain yang turut timbul akibat daripada kerap menonton televiyen adalah melemahkan kemahiran berbahasa, ciri visual televisyen menyekat perkembangan bahagian sebelah kiri otak yang penting untuk kemahiran pembelajaran bahasa. 


5. KESAN KEPADA SIKAP

Menurut Healy dalam buku keluaran CAP kanak-kanak yang terlalu banyak menonton televisyen boleh menurunkan prestasi akademik terutamanya dalam keupayaan membaca. Membaca memerlukan kedalaman atau pemerosesan tetapi 'fikiran dua minit' kanak-kanak daripada menonton terlalu banyak televisyen dengan mudah menjadikannya kurang sabar dengan kegiatan yang memerlukan pembacaan. Menonton televisyen adalah komunikasi sehala di mana kanak-kanak akan menjadi pasif.

Kanak-kanak menjadi leka dan sifat malas semakin meningkat. Perkara inilihat saja kanak-kanak zaman sekarang pergi ke mana-mana pasti akan ada permainan di tangan. Apalagi kalau bukan I-Pad, Tablet dan telefon bimbit. Oleh disebabkan itu, kanak-kanak kurang memberikan tumpuan di dalam pelajaran kerana otak mereka sentiasa memikirkan permainan yang ada di dalam tablet mereka.

The same article suggests that communication on the web is taking away necessary human conflict. For example, if an Internet conversation starts getting heated or if someone gets angry, it is too easy to just sign off and not deal with the issue. Resolving conflict is a part of life that shouldn’t be avoided and is usually psychologically helpful.

Another proposed disadvantage is that a couple of studies have found strong correlations between frequency of Internet use and loneliness. People that use the Internet often are more likely to become lonely and depressed than those that don’t. One proposal as to why this is the case is because of a potential reduced social support system as a result of the Internet.

There is some controversy over whether it is possible to actually be addicted to the Internet or not. Some researchers, like John M. Grohol, claim that it is simply people trying to escape their problems in an online world and cannot be classified as an addiction. He demonstrates his theory with this model and states that what some people call an addiction is just someone that is caught in stage one.

Other psychologists, including Jennifer R. Ferris, believe that Internet addiction is a true psychological disorder with definable symptoms. The symptoms are comparable to any addiction, withdrawal, loss of relationships or job and significant time consumption.

If an actual addiction exists or doesn’t exist, the underlying themes that support the addiction theory are still an issue. Whether people are trying to escape problems and reality or they will go through withdrawal if they aren’t surfing the net or chatting, it is still psychologically unhealthy.

Mereka boleh ketagih dengan permainan tersebut dan akan merencatkan pertumbuhan kanak-kanak yang sepatutnya dicapai. 

Kecerdasan interpersonal mereka akan terbantut yang mana mereka hanya memikirkan mengenai permainan komputer semata-semata dan mewujudkan sifat sosio-emosi kanak-kanak yang mementingkan diri sendiri dan tidak mahu mengalah. Sifat negative ini tidak sewajarnya ada dalam diri kanak-kanak. Dengan hanya bermain permainan komputer juga sekali gus akan menghilangkan tahap keyakinan diri kanak-kanak dengan masyarakat kerana mereka langsung tidak bercampur dengan masyarakat bagi aktiviti luar rumah. Perkara ini juga akan memberi impak yang besar kepada kanak-kanak apabila mereka remaja dan dewasa kelak.

Sebab itulah kanak-kanak sekarang banyak mengetahui perkara yang tidak sepatutnya dan pastikan akan meniru perkara negative itu tanpa mengetahu baik buruk dan kesan perkara tersebut seperti meniru aksi lucah yang boleh menjejaskan pemikiran mereka.

Dalam satu persidangan terapis percakapan di London mendedahkan bahawa televisyen membataskan dan menghadkan keupayaan kanak-kanak bertutur dan memahami Bahasa Inggeris. Kemahiran bahasa boleh dirangsang dengan baik melalui pembacaan dan penyertaan dua hala yang aktif dalam perbualan dan aktiviti bermain bukannya dengan menonton televisyen.

With the speed and ease of communicating on the Internet, it also makes it much easier for those who prey on others to find people to exploit. It also makes it much easier for someone to pretend they are someone else, the opposite sex, or younger than they are to find others to exploit.

The Internet is also full of sites that contain easily accessed adult material that can be easily accessed by minors or accidently viewed by those who don't want to see that type of material.
