So much of part 1 resonates with me as a person, professional, and school leader. Every day, like Mr. Ron Clark, I think of ways I can encourage and inspire EVERYONE! It is no easy task. There are so many factors that influence my work, and honestly, where I sit there is only the opportunity to receive information, deliver information, protect people, and manage operations. There is no human affect in that. So then I have to step apart from the work and see each individual PERSON, even myself. This helps me to realize who we are, how we operate, and where I need to show up. Knowing how I can motivate or encourage change is even more important. When I think about the work that goes into moving our school, I realize what I can and what cannot control. I realize how hard everyone works and show appreciation for that work. It’s up to me decide which direction is best to go so that everyone will be able to get to their destination at some point. So I’m moving the bus with the end in mind.
