Many people had to go through this and were treated very violently with no remorse from their holders.<br><br>Background Information: In 1845, Frederick Douglass published a book: <em>Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass </em>and talked about how he was a slave for several years and everything he went through during this time.<br><br>Thesis Statement: Along with the use of figurative language, Douglass uses his experiences to reveal the effects of slavery on slaves and slave owners which supports his position to abolish slavery.</div>]]></description>
