I not only had to act as if I were Malala, but I had to really understand who she was in order to be able to write as if I were her. I had to understand where she was coming from and where she was in her life during this time period. Understanding every aspect of her life and the event I chose to write this journal entry about was crucial to being able to write this piece. Lastly, I had to put myself in her shoes to understand the impact this event had on her life. I know that is cliché of me to say, but I honestly did in order to understand what all she was thinking during the span of this event.

This entry represents one of the characters because I wrote as if I were Malala in this journal entry. I wrote as if she were writing an entry after she had just found out the Taliban had made a death threat against her. I added in her response, her perspective of her dad's response, her reflection on if it were to happen, and her overall conclusion of the death threat.
