Correlative conjunctions are pair of words that connect ideas. Like all conjunctions, they link words and phrases together in sentences, indicating the relationship between them.

Correlative conjunctions are used in everyday speech all the time. For example, some of you play sports and have said something along the lines of "I could play either baseball or soccer next summer."

In sentences, the two phrases don't have to necessarily match. The two can be discussed independently.
