It is a way to move things using water that is converted into steam and the steam creates pressure which moves pistons which creates movement.This impacted the time period by creating a way to power machines which allowed countless inventions to be made during the Industrial revolution.

1804-Locomotive

The Locomotive invented by Richard Trevithick is an invention that uses a steam engine to power its movement. The locomotive was invented in 1804, it was influential on the industrial revolution, the locomotive created a faster way to get around as well as creating a means of transport to carry goods and people.This allowed the process of industrialization to further progress by wasting less time with the transportation of needed materials.

1785-Steam Powered Loom

The steam power loom is influential to the industrial revolution. The powered loom created a quicker way to manufacture cloth textiles allowing the process of mass producing to take place allowing more people to have clothing and other resources at a faster rate allowing the industrial revolution to speed up.

1838 - Coronation of Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria became Queen after her Uncle William the IV died. During her rule Britain reaches the golden age and becomes the most powerful nation and controles a fourth of the world. She strongly supported imperialism in India gaining her the name empires of India. She is influential to Imperialism because she heavily supported and funded taking over and controlling countries as well as leading and controlling 1/4th of the world.

1858 - Britain gains control over India

In 1858 the British took full control over India. Considered the jewel of the crown right next to China beneficial for trading, Silk Road trade routes to trade and benefit of, Britain set up restrictions that prevent India from operating on its own India can only sell and trade to Britain meaning India could only buy British goods, Britain bans Indian competition.This influenced imperialism by creating a powerhouse for which Britain can profit off of pushing them up giving them more power but creating enemies within the countries they rule.

1839 - 1st Opium War

In the early 19th century Britain, France, Dutch, and Spain all had control in some part of Eastern Asia. Britain wanted to trade with China to gain Chinese's silk and Chinese porcelain but China doesn't want anything from Britain so Britain starts trading with Opium from India, a highly addictive drug. China had no interest in allowing Britain to flood the country with Opium. It was destructive to their society. In 1839 the British forced them into the first Opium war. This was influential to imperialism by demonstrating how trade is not separate from government and if the government profits the government will want to keep what's giving them money.
