An amazing experience

Normally, when us students are in class, we don't have the necessary motivation to learn new things because we are usually bored. But, in the last two months, we had the opportunity to experiment an incredible culinary experience which was a different way to learn.

We cooked a vegetable soup, a quiche, and this week we finally made our last recipe: a sweet and tasty lava cake. Indeed, according to me, this experience was amazing because it was a completely new way to learn our second language. By this I mean that we learned how to communicate with our friends with the culinary language that the chief taught us and to work as a team and separate the tasks.

In addition, from my point of view, this activity helped us to be more autonomous. In fact, it taught us the basic cooking skills, preparing us for the future because our parents won't be with you forever, so these classes are a great start.

In conclusion, our recipe's final results may hadn't been all perfect, but at least it was a learning experience that brought me and my teammates together: just by seeing what we created to finally taste it, really made us proud of ourselves.

Captain Marvel's Review

Captain Marvel is a remarkable American superhero film that was worth the cost to wait I finally got the chance to watch the movie everybody was talking about and I wasn't disappointed.

First of all, according to me, this movie was well produced by Marvel Studios and had awesome actors. By this I mean that we could see that they put a lot of effort and money to make this movie: the special effects looked so realistic that it made the movie work really well and our new female Marvel superhero is showing a lot of determination and I love it. Furthermore, I enjoyed seeing that there was finally a female superhero as its center, and Brie Larson was perfect to represent that role.

However, there was one aspect that I didn't appreciate about this movie. From my point of view, the ending was boring. I do agree that the story was good, but I would've liked an ending different from the ordinary endings of Marvel Studios. That is to say, not an ending where there's a suspense or something like that because otherwise it is too predictable which makes it boring.

Save the planet

Tsunamis, earthquakes, drops of temperatures, snowstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes... These are the results of our beloved planet suffering, as seen int he movie titled "The Day after Tomorrow". In fact, human activities are causing the world to heat up and weather patterns to change. I am convinced that if we all do our part, we can find solutions to save our planet from these disasters and global warming.

Firstly, there are little things that you can do everyday to make a less harmful impact on the environment. To be more precise, we can reuse and recycle, turn off electronic devices, plant more trees, walk or ride your bike to work, school and anywhere you can... etc. I believe this because for instance, as stated in http://science.howitworks.com/, "If an office building of 7000 workers recycled all of its office paper waste for a year, it would be the equivalent of taking almost 400 cars off the road." We can now see that a simple action, as recycling, can make a big difference.

In conclusion, I do believe that if we put effort in doing those little actions, it can make a huge change. That is to say, taking care of the Earth isn't just a responsability, it is a privilege for the future generations.

Restaurant without any electronic devices

Time has changed a lot from the past. Today, we could not imagine a minute of our day without using some electronic devices.. They were actually invented to save our time and help us lead a better life, but unfortunately, we don't always use it in the right way and we became addicted.

On May 27th, my group went in the elegant ''Beffroi'' restaurant in the Old Québec, and my friends told me that this outing was great. Indeed, I didn't go to this activity because of my bad experience at the Tequila Lounge: I was really hungry watching everybody eating except me because of my Ramadan so I decided to not go this time. But, I've already been to a chic restaurant with my friends, so I can tell my experience for that. At first, you really feel empty because it's like a part of you's missing, but after we all talk with our friends and it is really cool. Even if we don't notice it,having our devices with us make us antisocial with the people around us, so since we had nothing to distract us, we found serious and funny things to talk about and it was amazing.
Also, I could finally focus on my food instead of my phone, which was great.

Finally, taking a break from social media and Internet in general make me feel good.

Son of the Mob

I recently read a book called "Son of the Mob", which is from my point of view, a really easy reading and addictive book.

In summary, the story revolves around a teenage boy named Vince. Vince is a typical 17-year-old, by this I mean that his teachers are on his back to get “motivated”, he goes to school, he fights with his older brothers, his best friend Alex is on his back, begging him to get a girlfriend.. There is just one thing that really sets him apart from the other kids: his father happens to be at the head of a powerful crime organization.

He was about four when he first started to realize that his family wasn’t like the families of some of his friends at preschool. “The Brothers Vending Machine” was the business that Vince’s father worked for, according to her mother but the Mob was the name of where he really worked. I am convinced that Vince is determined to remain out of his father’s business, a wish that is for the most part respected.

When Vince finally got a girlfriend, Kendra Bightly, I would argue that his family turns out to be the biggest problem of all. Kendra turns out to be the daughter of an FBI agent, the agent “Bite-Me”, who has planted in the Luca home the latest bugging device for years now. Things got really complicated once he found out, because he had to be really careful with what he should or what he shouldn’t say. How is he supposed to explain to her what his father does for a living if her father is the one who wants to put Vince’s dad away for good?
