To avoid the expense of sending troops to protect the settlers from the wilderness and ensure that they could collect taxes, the Parliament made the aforementioned decision. The French and Indian War was very expensive so the main concern was <strong><em>to collect money</em></strong><strong> </strong>(WHY).</div>]]></description>
