The Author is trying to prove that she wants to be good for the person. She doesn't want to be the side chick, and she doesn't need anybody to use her just for fun. The author shows the reader this because she uses Metaphors on how she something much better than what the person actually wants.

What the author is trying to show in this poem is that women were already born with everything she needed as a woman, but society made it seem to many women that they didn't have enough, and that they needed to be a specific way, or look a certain way.

What The author is stating in this poem is that women should be called more than just "pretty." It is a word that has slowly become meaningless, and yet many women are called this because for many other people, it is what they "liked to be called," but in reality we are much more than just a "pretty girl walking down the street." We are much more than that, and I believe that is what the Author wants to point out in this poem.

Alessia Cara wants to tell her audience that you are beautiful just the way you are, and that there is nothing you need to change.
