"The Girl on the Train" (by Paula Hawkins)

Last summer I recieved a gift from a special friend: a novel based on a movie "The Girl on the Train". After having it for months on the shelf, I've finally decided to read it!

I think it's a really interesting book because it describes and analyzes very real details of human behavior. I love psychological thrillers! From my point of view, it's a novel that keeps you intrigued and attentive all the time.

The main character, Rachel Watson, is a woman depressed by her divorce who becomes obsessed. She becomes alcoholic and has emotional problems because of her situation. Every day she takes the same train to London and she observes a couple that seems to be perfect, but behind that image there is a long history related to her…

I don't want to explain more about the story but I really recommend you if you like the uncentainty and the intriguing stories. The only drawback is that sometimes the language is quite complex. English expressions used by the characters in some situations are difficult to understand. But in spite of that it's interesting and you learn a lot about the language.

Every time I've travelled I've met people from all over the world... But the best thing is that I still keep in contact with many of them through social networks.

I have friends from United Kingdom but also friends from other countries like Morocco and Tailand. It helps me to understand all types of English accents and it's so useful!

I love the way that you learn a language through communication. From my point of view is the best way without doubt!

This year I've started to put into practice CLIL methodology with primary students (Content Language Integrated Learning).

I must say that I really enjoyed the experience and it was so interesting to teach Science in English.

The first unit was about Solar System and it was amazing! We learnt many aspects about Universe such as planets and stars. I showed them an interesting video that I found on Youtube called SOLAR SYSTEM-The Dr. (Peekaboo Kidz). It was so funny.

I love the way they learn with new experiences while I also learn with them... :)

Since I study in EOI I read many articles from "The Guardian" where you can find information that belongs to our current society. I didn't know anything about this source before and I reckon that it is really useful, specially because you can learn everything that now is happening in our world and it affects us in one way or another.

Moreover, you can learn English language in a formal way, which is really positive for us if we want to get a high mark in the exam!

I would love to share this article about a schoolgirl climate change warrior called Greta Thunberg. It is worth reading it because it makes you reflect on this matter and change some actions in order to contribute to the improvement of our planet.
