         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>It was the first Greek state.</li><li> It was a fortified state discovered by a German archaeologist. </li><li>They were apart of the Indo-Europeans that traveled to southwest Europe. </li><li>It reached its height during 1400 and 1200 B.C. The Dark Age is when the civilization collapsed 1100 B.C. </li><li>Greece broke into Athens and Sparta. Sparta was an oligarchy headed by two kings and was strongly based on military. Athens was mainly an oligarchy headed by the aristocrats.</li></ul>]]></description>

The first was when the Greeks worked together to defeat two Persian invasions.</li><li> The second was the Great Peloponnesian War that was the huge civil war between Athens and Sparta. </li><li>Athens eventually surrendered to Sparta, but both were greatly weakened. </li><li>Greek art was strongly based on temples dedicated to Gods and Goddesses, but also included other small statues.</li><li> Greek philosophy was based around critical and rational thought about the world. </li><li>Drama was invented by the Greeks. They had plays at religious festivals.</li></ul>]]></description>

Alexander was twenty when he was king of Macedonia.&nbsp;</li><li>He quickly invaded Asia and controlled the Persian Empire.&nbsp;</li><li>He planned to take over more, but his unhealthy habits killed him at the age of 32.</li><li>&nbsp;Alexander created the Hellenistic era which expanded Greece and its culture.</li><li>&nbsp;During this, Alexandria was created which was a cornucopia of culture, like music and poems.&nbsp;</li></ul>]]></description>
