Throughout my time at KIPP I’ve grown a lot. I am extremely grateful for all the unique and exciting opportunities that this school has given me. With that, I would like to thank some teachers that really shaped/helped me! Although he does not teach at KIPP anymore, Mr. Reed will have a place in my heart. I appreciate being in his classes and having the wonderful opportunity to TA for him. His energy really made me feel welcomed and supported. My advisor, Mr. Reza, for always bringing the energy even though no one feels it 95% of the time. The enthusiasm you bring everyday makes me motivated and ready for the week. I would also like to thank Mr. Chelin. Although we had a rocky start, we had to opportunity to get a little closer and it was a pleasure being in his class! Another thank you to Ms. Klein! I always looked forward to attending Chemistry and Geometry sophomore year. Ms. Klein’s class was always entertaining and her flow charts really did help me out! I will always appreciate Mr. Khatib for being helpful with my club and trying to teach me physics. Cool guy but I feel bad that all of his muscles are gone :( . Of course I appreciate all my teachers for all the effort they put and I will definitely not forget!

Honorable mentions:
Mr. Low (9th grade)
Ms. Tactac (9th grade)
Ms. Cohen (10th grade)
Ms. Rios (10/12th grade)
Ms. Cuenca (11th grade)
Dr. Zarin (12th grade)

KSJC will forever be in my heart💜 . I’m not lying when I say I will always remember my brief time here. I just want all the staff to know that you all left an everlasting impact on me!
- Ethan Khuu-Tran

Those memories would have been impossible if it wasn’t for all of the amazing staff and faculty present at KSJC. Some are no longer there, some may not be returning next year, and some may be planning their lesson plans for next year already, but nonetheless the impact is all the same. I wish things wouldn’t have ended this way, and I could have said this all in person, but I 100% plan to visit and spend time with you all! Thank you for helping me embark on the next chapter of my life.
- Sameep Gidda

I just want to say that today’s year wasn’t as planned for us and for other staff as well. An unprecedented year has separated us seniors from having one last moment with our favorite staff in person. Despite these difficult times, we have made sure that every moment, we will make each second positive and this letter is no exception. Just because we haven’t seen our staff in a while doesn’t mean we have forgotten those who believed and pushed us to become successful in reaching our personal goals. Before I address the people whom I want to thank, I want to thank all of the other staff in KSJC who did everything to make our transition smooth in distance learning. For all the hard work you have put into us this year, I’d say it is more than enough for the whole senior class to owe you guys some words of gratitude.

First, I want to thank Ms. Vo for pushing me personally to reach higher standards of goals. Your expectations of the class may be high, but I feel like it is a way for me to realize my potential that I probably will never find if it wasn’t for you. To be honest, I had a really bad impression on you since AP World (that class was crazy difficult). Now that I think back, I realized that you just wanted me to improve in times of challenges. Even though I may not be the greatest or smartest student to perform in any of your AP classes, you taught me to have a better mindset to come to terms with my own personal flaws and fix them. Therefore, I thank you again for making me who I am today. If I want to achieve something, you have to work hard for it. There is no other way. In another time, I hope I can see you again.

I want to thank you Monagle for doing everything that you could do to make class fun and engaging. Your humorous personality has put a smile on my face everytime we begin class and at times of sadness, you were always there to offer help and guidance. As your advisee, it was really cool seeing how things changed overtime. As our advisory reached higher grade levels, you constantly offered support along the way. Something as simple as asking how our day was, it really helped me get through the day and I cannot thank you enough for that. You have also influenced me not only to be academically successful but also reaching my personal goals as well. When I joined Track (at the worst time), it would be ridiculous for me to say it was easy for me. Physical fitness was one thing I have long neglected as I mostly devote my time to academics and studying so I guess I have paid a major price for that. Through intense physcial and mental pain, I have begun to grow a liking towards physical fitness and realized there is a balance between everything. Though, it is a personal choice, I believe that being healthy is just as important as being academically successful. Even though Track has ended prematurely, your ways of training the Track team has been a great source of motivation. It helped me settle for better oportunities, helped me be more ambitious, and helped me be more flexible with my schedule devoted between personal and academic life. Overall, you gave me everything that I could have asked for and I want to thank you for that. From there on out, who knows what the future holds. It may be scary to think about but I have to remember that the storm will eventually clear. Cheers for the next class and advisory that you will be having. I am sure they will be extremely grateful to have a teacher like no other.

Thank you for everything you have done. Your efforts will not be wasted and will soon be voiced upon our future successes. Although an ending so bittersweet, the memories are here to stay no matter what.
- Tom Nguyen

Thank you for all of your guys’ support and encouragement throughout the years. I learned many things, both academically and socially. I got to learn many things about myself and discovered different kinds of methods that have helped me and will continue to do so. I appreciate all the work that has been put into not just helping me advance, but also the effort that was put in for my peers. Without a doubt, these past years flew by faster than the speed of sound. Through the ups and downs, I made various memories that will stick with me as time keeps on passing by. Aside from what few things I wish I could change, I am going to miss KIPP and everyone that I was fortunate enough to meet and become friends with, students and school staff.
- Eva Rodriguez-Cortes🤟🏼

As a transfer student and being in KIPP only for two years, I was allowed to meet the best and coolest people ever. Thank you to my English teachers (Ms. Rios and Ms. Cohen). With your help, I was able to finish my four year English requirements only in two years. For, Ms. Rios, I always enjoyed coming to interventions during the "Essay writing time". I also loved being in your creative writing class because I had a chance to explore my imaginations. Thank you to Ms. Tietz for making the classroom manageable and always being patient; not just in class, but also outside of school. Along with my appreciation, I am sad that I was only able to join the community for two years. I experienced many ups and downs, but I was also able to grow with the support from the teachers.
I hope for everyones safety!
- Vickey

And to the teachers I'm about to name, you guys have had an especially big impact on me that I am so grateful for. Vo, thank you for always pushing me to do the best work that I can do and for inspiring me to unabashedly be myself and take pride in being Asian American. Monagle, thank you for supporting me in becoming an athlete, allowing me to roast you during class, and for supporting me in anything I do. Rios, thank you for being the best yearbook advisor and for being patient enough to hear me rant about anything and give advice. Markwalter, thank you for being one of the best teachers I've ever had and motivating me every day with your enthusiasm for calculus and your love for your students. And last but definitely not least: Thomas, thank you for making me a better musician and showing me what genuine care from a teacher looks like.

Thank you to all the teachers that have taught me throughout high school. Teachers aren’t always applauded for all the work they put in and all the extra hours they dedicate to their students, so thank you for all your hard work! Ms. Klein, thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me ever since I have been your student. When I took your class, I was very timid and nervous about how well I could do and you always pushed me to do my best. You’ve instilled confidence in me about what I am capable of in an academic setting. Even with your schedule you always made the time to talk and even during our drives from soccer games we would talk about my plans regarding the future. Even now, you helped me immensely during my college process. You took the time to reach out to different offices after my many unsuccessful attempts and talk through my decisions. Thank you for always making yourself available and helping me so much throughout the years. Your help will never go unnoticed and I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me. Ms. Carrillo, thank you for always helping me with my college process. I was always pestering you with questions and you always guided through the steps, even if you had multiple other things to deal with. Both of you have done more than you needed to for me and I am immensely grateful! Ms. Yoro, Ms. Christianson, and Ms. Dela Rosa, thank you for all your advice and support during this college process as this was all a new experience for me. Thank you! :)
- Cassandra Yera Licon

To Ryan, I want to say as your adopted advisee I’m extremely grateful for the questions about my family and my wellbeing, for the adjustments you made, and support you offered.
