Will all students understand the lesson the first time?
This lesson will be scaffolded for students to learn in three steps. Students will first work together with the teacher and peers to go through the "List-Group-Label" process. Then, students will work in groups to try the strategy with peers. Lastly, students will try the strategy independently. Although it is scaffolded to be slowly introduce, some students may struggle with brainstorming words to list, how to group them and how to label them. The Kahoot and the independent work should show me who is struggling and where.

Will you need differentiation?
Differentiation should always be available. For this lesson, students who are emerging bilingual or at a lower reading level can be presented with some or all vocabulary prior to grouping. Students can also use "speech-to-text" through Docs. Other options are: pre-grouping words for students to focus on labeling, providing labels and organizing words from the list, drawing images to go with the listed words, etc.

Will you need alternative ways to teach the lesson?
Although this lesson is going to be created to use different technologies, some students may have trouble with using the computer. Students can instead use paper and a pencil for group work.
