This week was the first week of our new online class and during this weeks class we did a discussion on Steve Jobs and I had no idea how mean steve jobs. It really took me by surprise. I love using apple products and I am using one as I type. After reading the article I am going to make sure I treat every employees with respect weather they are above me or below me. I work at Chick-Fi-A part time as I am going to school and we treat everyone with respect and it has taught me so much. When I go to other restaurants and not get treated as I should I feel weird and want to tell the people how they should treat guest.

As for my artifact. I choose a picture of a bunch of Apple products. I choose this picture because we learned about Steve Jobs and how he treated his employees. I am using a IMac right now and after learning about Steve I constantly get reminded as to what he did when I use my laptop.

During week 2 we learned about gender and multigeneration diversity in the work force and how it can help the company. During my discussion board that week I talked about one of my Favorite shows (which I hope to be on one day) called Survivor and how they had a season called Gen X vs Millennial. Which had contesents who were all defeat ages, races, and male and female. During that season they mixed the teams up and once the 2 generations were mixed up they were biased towards one another they bonded and worked together and even teamed up! thought it was really cool because even here in the real world we all work together and no one at my job discriminates because someone is to old or because they are a girl or a different race. It was really an inteseting season and I hope I am on the next one!

I choose a picture of my survivor photo that I got for auditing for Survivor! I choose this artifact because it really hits home to what we learned about Diversity. Because no matter what. Every new season has every race and both the same amount of men and female on the teams and I think its amazing!

This week we learned about managing within a global organization. I already knew that Mcdonlads is a global organization. The company I work for however is a different story. I work for Chick-Fil-A and without having to look it up I know we are not a global company. Chick-Fil-A finally ended up in New York A few years ago. During this weeks discussion board I was really surprised to learn that Marriot hotels is a Global Company! I had no idea, I thought it was just another hotel chain here in America. After learning about the company I have great respect for the company and all they do for the community. With their 5 rules to treat costumers right. The 5 rules to treat customers right has taught me a lot in my work and personal life.

I choose this website about Marriott hotels for my artifact because I really like the fact that Marriott helped Haiti in need and I think every company should do the same. Last year when the shooting happened in the club in Orlando. My company Chick-fil-a (not my store) opened up on a sunday to cook sandwichs for all the first responders. Chick-fil-a went against there policy to not work on Sunday for the people who take care of us when we are in need.

DOUBLE WEEK! Since the college is moving away from 8 week classes to 7 week classes, we had to do 2 modules in 1 week. Thank goodness it wasn't that much work :)
During week 4 we learned about planning and decision making. Making decisions can be very stressful. What car should I buy? Which type of food brand is better? Decision making can also be life or death situations. I am working on my A.S. degree in fire science and I plan on being a firefighter in the future. Decisions making for the fire serve is very curial. Situations like where do i I enter the fire building at? Which fire hose will work the best? Which medicine is right one to treat a seizure?

My artifact for this week is a problem I will have to deal with in future as a firefighter. That is why making decisions is very important.

This week were learned about managing human resources and communications, and during this week we learned about Selection, Training, and Performance Appraisal. Selection Is really important to the human resources because you want to make sure you pick the right employee to be hired. Training is also needed because if you are not trained correctly you could mess up and more then like hurt someone. For example if you were not trained properly to change your gloves because of a customer has a peanut allegie it can be a serious problem for the company, worker, and innocent customer. Lastly, performance appraisal in human resources is reviving the activities in the new employee. It is a way to give feedback on the new employee and how they are doing.

For my artifact this week I choose this photo of a player using the racket wrong. This is a good example about this weeks lesson because if youre not properly trained how to do something it can lead to not succeeding.

The final week! Its been an awesome, fun, fast and short 7 weeks! This week we learned about controlling performance and operations. During the discussion board I Learned that Toyota has has so many problems in the past few years and millions of cars have been recalled!! I had no idea of this. My dad bought my brother a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and I'm sure my dad made sure to do his homework on the new Tacomas before buying it. I know he wouldn't put us at risk. Anyway, during this week we read about production. Having production can mean workers, mangers, food, tables, utensils to cook. We also learned about operations control. With operations you want to make sure that operations are carried out the way they are planned. Like Toyota for instance. They carried out the plans but didn't expect there to be problems and recalls.

As for my artifact I found this article about Toyota Tacoma's having recalls... This is ridiculous. I can not believe this happened again for this company. I'm glad we own a 2015 Tacoma and these recalls are for the 2016 and 2017 models but I will telling my family about this so we can make sure our model is safe.

This week we learned about leadership and motivation. I learned in the chapters that mangers and leading are not the same thing. After reading this week Discussion board I learned what about what a bad leader can be and do. Leaders need to have good communication, have a positive attitude, have confidence, and honesty. This has really hit home to me because I have just found out that I have been promoted from Team Member, to Team Leader at my job! I am so excited and this class has taught me a lot. The timing hasn't been any better. I am really glad I took this class over summer.

I choose this cartoon as my artifact . Because it is really fun and true! I don't not have leadership experience but do have followers on twitter. But what I do have are leadership and motivation qualities. This is why I believe I have been given the have to be promoted at my job. :)

During week 5 we learned about Responsibility, Authority, and Delegation. Being Responsible is very important in the work force. Weather is simple task like taking out the trash so the trash doesn't overflow and make the restaurant look messy. Or being in charge of the restaurant while the manger steps into the office to handle things. As for me when I get promoted . I will be giving authority in making sure all the team members are doing their jobs and also making sure every customer has been taking care of. As for Delegation, if we are really busy and the line is out the door and there are a lot of orders of ice cream but we just ran out. I will tell one of my team members who is taking orders to run to the back and grab some while I cover their register. These are big responsibility and I am ready for the job.
As for my artifact I chose this funny photo of the galaxy Samsung that were catching fire/blowing up last year. I choose it because the company really took responsibility and telling their customers there was a problem with their product. Unlike Toyota did according to chapter 9.
