         <description><![CDATA[<p>With the start of the Battle of Bataan, the march started after 3 months. Filipinos and Americans prisoners of war had to march a 65 mile long route. About 60,000 to 80,000 were forced to march this whole route. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Japanese invaded Port Moresby. After this attack the U.S fleet turned back and the Japanese thought nothing of the Battle. With the help with Australia, the U.S defeated the Japanese and that was the end of their naval power in the Pacific. This stopped Japan from having any naval power in the Pacific to stop the invasions they were causing. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Japan wanted to get rid of the U.S. power in the Pacific in order to gain more territory. This was a naval battle where it was mostly fought with aircraft. The U.S. defeats Japan which destroyed their first-line carrier strength and most of their best naval pilots. This stopped Japan in wanting to take over the Pacific and the U.S. stayed with Its power.</p>]]></description>

This was one of the first battles of the U.S. turning to the offensive side and attacking the Japanese. The victory meant a lot being the moment where the Allies put the Japanese on the defensive side for once.</p>]]></description>
