A Mexican-American farmworker, union leader, and civil rights activist, Cesar Chavez brought better conditions for farmworkers.
Through marches and strikes, Chavez forced employers to pay adequate wages and provide other benefits, and was responsible for legislation that implemented the first bill of rights for farmworkers.
