One day when Molly woke up to go to school on a Tuesday, she wasn’t feeling well. Her mother felt Molly’s forehead, and decided that she would not go to school that day because she had a fever.

“Mom, will I get to go to Grandma’s house today?” Molly asked.

“Yes Molly, because I must go to work.”

Molly got very excited. She loved to go visit her grandmother because Grandma was Molly’s favorite.

It was a long ride in the car to get to Molly’s grandparent’s house and on the way Molly got very tired. Before she knew it she was fast asleep and dreaming of all the fun she would have at Grandma’s house.

Molly dreamed of arriving at Grandma’s house and making cookies. That was her favorite thing to do with Grandma. They would work together to stir the dough and then bake them in the oven. While they waited for the cookies to bake they would play go-fish.

“Go fish!” Molly would shout to Grandma.

And then Grandma would pretend to go get Papa’s fishing pole from the basement. They would laugh and laugh and laugh at this joke, because Grandma was Molly’s favorite.

After the cookies came out of the oven Molly knew that Grandma would let her eat the two biggest cookies along with a glass of milk, then they would go to the couch and read together. This made Molly the happiest of all, because Grandma was Molly’s favorite, but also because Molly loved to listen to her Grandma read to her.

The next thing Molly knew she was being woken up by her Mom in the Grandma’s driveway and standing in the doorway was Grandma.

Molly was very happy, and her face held a big smile because Grandma was her favorite.
