I feel that the fishermen shared with uncle because he was their leader because he got on no problem and they gave them food right away. The fishermen also didn’t care what they did. Uncle probably traveled on that boat to travel and probably knew the fishermen somehow. 

1. What impact does Marial and his uncle have on Salva's new existence without his family? In what ways do they change how Salva sees the world around him?

Marial had an impact on Salva because they both are   experiencing the same thing,   looking the same thing and doing the same thing. He was very positive that Salva   would find his family. Salva’s   uncle has an impact on him because the uncle  
is very uplifting and positive that they will find his parents and also the Salva   will stay safe because his   uncle wants to find his parents and has a rifle from   when his was a soldier. Also Salva would probably feel safe because his uncle has a gun and can use the gun for foo, safety, etc. 

Question 3. I think the girl that shares her water made a smarter choice than the man that keeps his water. I think the woman made a better choice because she was sharing energy that could help people prevent illness that could spread through the group. 

Mariel and uncles impact was big because salva found a friend that is like him that also lost his family and salva also found one of his family members that were related to him. I think it also made salva feel not alone and by himself as much as before. I think that Salva’s uncle is making salva feel safer because his uncle has a gun and is like the leader of the group and could protect him from vicious animals.

I feel like the fisherman shared his water with salva's uncle because he has a gun so uncle could shoot the fisherman or threaten him with the gun. So the fisherman was probably scared of the gun and scared to say no to him.   

Question 2: I think the fishermen were scared of uncle because he had a gun and they were afraid that uncle would hurt them. 

1 His uncle plays a big role because he is scared but his uncle said I have a gun I will shoot anything that try to hurt you and he said I will stay up all night for you.

3 woman tried to save  a couple men were dying so she gave them some water and she got yelled at by someone. I would help them because you could of saved them.

2. I think the fishermen share with uncle because they are scared of his gun. I think this because they probably would have kept their food but they were probably scared. If it was anyone else in the group they wouldn’t have shared anything. Also in the text only uncle and Salva got food so the fisherman only gave it to them.

Marial and uncle had a very big impact of the change of salvias perspective on his new life without his family, they kept him company and always reminded him what he was walking for. n the text is States many time that uncle reassured salvia that he was safe and protected from and danger that may try to harm salvia on their journey. Marial changes salvias perspective on his new life by showing him that even without his family with him at all times he can still live on survive without me by his side. Marial and his uncle both had very big parts in the way salvia see’s the world and how he will continue to see it from now on.

2. I feel like the fishermen shared with uncle because he is the group leader and he can use the food for people in his group if they need sugar or something like that. I also think that the fishermen gave them food because they could probably see that they are really hungry and need some type of food to keep them moving. 

  I think they gave Uncle food because they were scared that he had a gun and they thought they were going to get in trouble.

2- In chapter 8 salvas group came across fisherman who gave them supplies salva wasn't sure though if the fishermen were scared of uncle because he has a gun or they handed the supplies to uncle because he was the leader.

I think they handed them supplies because of both reasons I believe they were scared of uncle and they knew if they didn't give them food he could do something unspeakable or because they knew they were going on a long adventure across the desert so if they wouldn't of gave them water they would

Of died and that blood would be on there hands.

2. I think that the woman did the right thing because if that person was help full to the group if he was an old army soldier or he was  a doctor and he could have helped them in return give them shot cut through the desert. That what’s I think the right thing is.

For uncle, the text states that he says to Salva “I will keep you safe. I have a gun to shot off any lion that comes near you.” I think that when uncle said that, Salva knew that he could rely on him (uncle) and that he was there to protect him and keep him safe. 

Question 3. I think that the better decision to make would be to share the water with someone else because if you can save that person’s life by sharing your water with them, then it is worth it in the end. If I was in that position, knowing that that person has a family and people that love him would allow me to make the decision of helping him out, over taking the water for myself. And if he ends up living, then I know that me giving him water saved his life so he can continue on his journey to find his family. I think that it would be very brave of the woman to share her water. 

I think that mariall and his uncle had a great impact on salv. I believe this because if salve didn’t meet marial and his uncle there is a good chance that. Salva would be dead or dying of dehydration or starvation . I think that having marial and his uncle reassured salva of survival and gave him a better chance of being reunited with his family.

3. When one of the women in the group gives water to one of the men they find in the desert, someone else tells her that she will die if she shares her water. Which do you feel is making a better decision: the woman who shares her water with another or the man who keeps his for himself to better insure his own survival? Explain.

In the text when to women try to help the man I think she was doing a good thing. I also believe the man made a good point about saving water for herself so insure her own survival. I think that she could compromise and give the man half of her water so she would have some left for the journey.i think by doing this the women would still have a good chance of not getting dehydrated and she would still give the man a chance for survival. I think the women made a good choice to share her water instead of being selfish.

ways   does   Marial   change   how   Salva   sees   the   world   around   him?

I   think   that   when   salva   met   marial   he   felt   a   better   because   he   nos   that   he   not   the   only   one without   his   parents.   And   I   think   salva   felt   a   lot   better   when   he   found   his   uncle   because   he   part   of his   family   and   it   could   make   him   feel   better   with   a   family   member.   Also   he   knows   that   some watching   over   him.

 

I feel that it is more likely for them to give him a few pieces of fish because he seems to be the leader of the group and they want the leader of the group to stay healthy and live long so that they know what they are doing and to keep people motivated enough to go through the desert and through the niles so they can go to ethiopia away from all the fighting and war in their home. It also could be because they thought he was scary with the gun and looked like a leader so they give him offerings so they won’t shoot them. This is what I think why the fisherman gave his uncle fish to eat.

Which do you feel is making a better decision: the woman who shares her water with another or the man who keeps his for himself to better insure his own survival? Explain.

  I think that the woman is the smarter one because the other men might know more than what Salva's uncle may know about ethiopia and how to get there, and if they want to keep the other men alive she has to keep them alive enough for directions or for more knowledge on how to get there and what they should expect when they get to ethiopia. There are a bunch of reasons why she could’ve done it, you never know. She could’ve just left them there to die and for them to keep moving to a town or a village. She could’ve been hallucinating the men for family or friends that are dieting in the desert. 

I think the impact that Marial and the uncle have on salvas new existence without his family is that he doesn't feel alone anymore cause he has a new friend and that makes him feel better cause he didn't know anyone before he met Marial and they both lost their family. And now that salva has found his uncle he the impact on salva makes him worry less about finding his family because he has someone he knows to help him deal with that.

I think that keeping the water to herself is a good decision because if she shares it with the other man then she could die. I also think it's a good decision because she would have a better chance at survival rather than her sharing the water with the man.

Marial and his uncle have a huge impact on Salvas new existence without his family because without his family, Salva wouldn't of had food, water, shelter, and safety. An example of Marial and his uncle having an impact on Salva are when Salva finds Marial, he becomes his survival buddy by helping him get the things he needs to survive like shelter and food. Another example of Marial and his uncle having an impact on Salva are when Salva loses Marial, he finds his uncle and he helps him Survive by having a gun for safety and for getting food, and for helping him to find shelter. They help change Salva so he sees the world around him as safer because Salva sees the world around him as scary with the war going on and the fights he sees around him.

Question 2: I feel the fishermen shared the food with his uncle because he seemed to be the leader of the group is more likely. I think this because it never said in the book that the fishermen saw his gun, so I'm guessing the fishermen assumed he was the leader of the group and shared the food with him for free.
