They were missing a single ingredient that was found in the rough and gloomy garden. It was raining more and more, so they made a deal with John.  If he got them the Aconitum leaf, they would let him go into the basement, a place forbidden to him. Very quickly Juan accepted the deal and went into the garden. The further he went, the more frightened he became, and suddenly...

This passage led to a very bright part of the garden. John approached it thinking that no one was there. A breeze came in and blew his hair away. It was a beautiful part of that horrible garden. 
John decided that the leaf could wait, he had to explore!
Hours passed and Juan was missing, his aunts called him and searched. They found him lying in the grass of that wonderful garden sleeping.
