Many people have offered their opinions on who could have committed the crime: Some say it was her second husband Rob, while others believe it could be the work of Gary Michael Hilton, a known serial killer. Rob has an airtight alibi, although he's not taken out of suspicion due to his intimate knowledge of Patrice's schedule and would have known that she would be alone in the 13 minute time span the crime was committed. Hilton on the other hand killed four hikers in Floriday, North Carolina and Georgia between the years 2005 and 2008.
