RTI or Response to Intervention is a key topic of this weeks readings. It is a system of supports that allows for all students to receive the needed supports. RTI also is used to help determine if or what students need special education services.

]]> 2017-06-01 17:01:56 UTC https://padlet.com/bholba/e5hi18muz0j0/wish/174853761 bholba https://padlet.com/bholba/e5hi18muz0j0/wish/174854767 No Child Left Behind or NCLB is a standard driven way of looking at curriculum in general education.  This allows for a standard that all students can meet.  Even those students who have learning disabilities or other special education qualifications.  This belief is that students with special education needs can still achieve the standards set before everyone they just may need a bit more help.  For RTI, NCLB fits as a strategy for meeting the goals of NCLB.

]]> 2017-06-01 17:19:47 UTC https://padlet.com/bholba/e5hi18muz0j0/wish/174856894 bholba https://padlet.com/bholba/e5hi18muz0j0/wish/174858763 Problem solving is a large part of collaboration and communication, especially in education.  Regularly, problems or situations can arise and the collaboration of the educators and special education team members is vital to solving those problems.  Regardless of whether or not educators truly want to solve a lot of problems, problem solving is a professional responsibility.  The administrators job is to facilitate this problem solving and work with those the team to solve these problems.
