2. What do I see...? After Sam asks him about Hilda, Willie mentions he has beaten her more than once. We can infer that Hilda suffers from domestic-violence and that Willie is a violent man. Therefore, he needs music to escape his terrible life as a partner.

3. We can interpret that rain foreshadows something dreadful will happen. Also, using rain as a symbol of renewal is perhaps most commonly employed at the end of a long reign of terror.
