The climate region Guatemala resides in is tropical it mainly consists of spring and summer weather. This climate helps society by having a good environment to grow crops since they have a lot of sun and often have rain which leads to fertile soil. Which can help them grow their population and it helps them not have a famine very often.

This climate hurts society by making Guatemala vulnerable to floods which can ruin their agriculture. Which is very valuable to them since they need it for food and to sell to get money to buy more land.

Natural Resources

The most important resources in Guatemala are nickel, petroleum, hydro-power , and fish. These natural resources help society by providing food power and material that can be used for many things. Fish is food that helps them survive and have a proper diet with protein which can help their population grow since they aren't dying of starvation. Nickel helps make armour plating, boat propeller shafts, and turbine blades. Nickel is also found in batteries. Which helps power some machines, Also nickel is used in coins which is their one of their forms of money. Petroleum and hydro-power are ways of powering many things like factories, cars, air conditioning, and transportation in general. Which helps their country run smoothly and produce many things and helps businesses that make money.

Them relying on these natural resources hurt this society because if petroleum runs out they will struggle to power a lot of things and if there's a drought that is a drawback for the hydro-power. Also if they use petroleum too much it will cause pollution which can harm their agriculture and have a major impact on their environment. Using and relying on this too much is bad because it is a nonrenewable resource which is scarce. If they have pollution they can have water pollution which can affect the fish population and if the fish population decreases they could run out of food making their own population decrease.

The benefit of using hydro-power is that it is a renewable resource. Also it is possible to use fresh and salt water which can be helpful since Guatemala is near an ocean and they have many rivers and valleys. So they will be able to use hydo-power for many years unless they have a drought.

Guatemala has transportation according to the world factbook they have 58 airports and 3 sea/ocean ports. Guatemala imports and exports goods by their sea ports their main sea/ocean port is Puerto Quetzal this is important that they have multiple ports because this makes it easier for them to trade and to make profit selling things. This gives them more opportunities to make profit and this can help their civilization have more resources and can help it grow

Vallys and mountains are an important landform in Guatemala. It would be easy to participate in agriculture science there is a lot of fertile soil. Also living near mountains means I would be land locked but Guatemala gets a lot of visitors because of its amazing and beautiful mountains that are amazing tourist attractions. One mountain is Montaña Peña Blanca and a valley is Motagua Valley.

This impacts food and shelter because vallys give a lot of fertile soil and Guatemala also does grow a lot of agriculture and this would help produce food to help them survive. Since their population isn't dying it would help their population grow instead of dying off. A drawback is they can be prone to floods if they live in a valley since they have a lot of rainfall. Which can ruin their agriculture and can destroyed. Mountains can help be an natural barrier but a draw back is that it can make a civilization landlocked. But it helps rian fall go down to valleys creating rivers.
