         <description><![CDATA[<div>I would use this book for grades 2-3. This book is a fun introduction to measurements.Students could complete the hands on activities that are throughout the book. This book covers the  Egyptian cubits, Roman paces, the English inch-pound system, and the standard metric system. Students could complete activities such as making a metric ruler and determining distance in kilometers .</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I would use this in my 2nd grade class to discuss the different terminology within measurement. it would be fun book to read that does not make it seem as though the students are being overwhelmed with the terms. I would have them listen to the read aloud, and afterwards draw examples of each term used from the book. Next, we would do a hands on activity that allows them to see how measuring is used in daily life, such as using a ruler to find measurements of different objects. There are times when learning measurements can be tricky, so reading a fun book that deals with measurements and food is a nice way to keep the scholars interested. It is rare for students to not pay attention when it comes to food. For an activity, the class can use water that is color dyed in various colors. Once she starts the assignment, she catches the spirit and seemingly can't stop measuring everything she sees..          <description><![CDATA[<div>I think this book is great for all ages. I would be able to use this with my 3rd grade class when putting length and with into context. In 3rd grade, students have been exposed to measurement but at times they lack the capacity to identify how large something is in their lives. I would use it as a read aloud and then use the book to catapult us into a hands on activity where they themselves would measure different items and have to convert it into feet, inches, centimeters, etc. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is a fantastic book about what weight actually is. It gives the definition and then it gives different examples of things that have weight. It shows that weight can be many found in many things as well as things that are light. Because it rhymes, it can help students to remember what an ounces, kilograms, grams, pounds, etc. I would definitely use this as an introductory point with my 3rd grade students to show measurement. Then they would be given ways to actually measure, using a scale. </div>]]></description>
