I think there are side conflicts that affect the story but there was one main conflict in the story, which was finding out who murdered Jessica Lane. The main conflict affects the characters because it lead to the death of Maddy, Kay's close friend. It also deepens the plot on who actually is the murderer and why the framed people/suspects. The main character, Kay, was mostly affected because the murderer wanted to frame her, and it sorta worked. By that I mean that Kay's friends grew apart and Kay had no alibi to support her so she had to gather her own evidence with the help of other suspects.

I personally enjoyed reading this book because it included great dialogue and descriptions of what was happening in the scenes. What I think could be fixed was the amount of romantic scenes in the book. It sorta overwhelmed the whole idea of the book being a horror/mystery book. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy suspense and more mature fiction books, based off the scenes and the intensity of the book that most younger audiences wouldn't comprehend .

Using the new book I'm reading, "The Diviners" by Libba Bray, I think what might happen in the book is that the main characters so far, Evie, Memphis, and Jericho will be revealed as diviners/people with powers. I think this because in the story, Uncle Will is teaching college students about supernatural stuff and good and evil. He mentions about the Diviners and since Evie does have a special ability and she is one of the main characters, I'm assuming that those three characters mentioned above are gonna help each other solve a crime using their powers.

It helps us picture the wheels being too weak and wobbly due to 3 people on 1 bike, which might be a bit too heavy so the wheels are unsteady, similar to spaghetti noodles.

I learned that there are Herolds who are the ones who call theses unfortunate people and after one call, they go to the next. I wonder where these Herolds get their information from and if they know how they know when people will die. This impacts the story because Rufus and Mateo are the main characters but they still have side characters which talk about stuff about them. I'm not sure why it includes them but I assume they have important roles. In one of the chapters, one of the Herolds are presented. It shows that she is very good at her job and how she has a high-score among the Herolds in terms of calling people of their deaths. I think what one of the main characters, Mateo, says here is important to answering my annotation question because it shows that even though he would be dying today, he still has things to do. To live for. But he will never be able to do any of that because, well, he's dying. It's a very unfortunate situation, because it shows that life is short and unexpected. You'll never know what will happen. Enjoying your life is important because who knows when you'll fall into a deep, deep, slumber and destined to never wake up. Mateo is an introvert at heart and he never really got to experience what other people his age did. He feels sad because he wanted to be that future Mateo, who got to live inside his fantasy. This piece of text from Mateo's section really shows how even if you want to escape death or run away from it, you can't. Because nobody is inevitable to death. It's something that's natural and everyone at some point will have to eventually breathe their last breath. Mateo still hasn't accepted it, because he doesn't want to. He doesn't know specifically how or when he'd die but only that his life ends today. So far, I give it a 10/10.  I really enjoyed how the author made me change me perspective on death and how nobody is immune to it. It shows me different pov's of characters and how it relates to the future of the setting on the book. It does a pretty good job on how they made the antagonists because they make me cringe every time they appear in the chapters. I recommend  this book to people who enjoy seeing friendships bloom, sad books, and science fiction books. The reason why is because this book started off with two strangers who met up with an app because they didn't wanna spend their last day lonely. They become close eventually and show the secrets between these two dying friends. In this scene, Mateo finally unblocks his best friend ( he only did it to protect her)  and they decide to meet up. Lidia is devastated because she wanted Mateo to be apart of Penny's life (her daughter) and of hers because they are very close friends. This scene shows that people aren't around forever. Some won't be as fortunate to see people around them grow and how people are always on that cliff of death, but they could never know when they fall off that cliff. Unfortunately, some people may grow up without that one important person. He learned tons of things from Mateo and Mateo helped Rufus find meaning in his short-span life, as sad as it sounds because they have 24 hours. The phrase Adam Silvera says in this book shows me that friendships and relationships are crucial because they play a part in shaping your identity. Some may leave scars heal others may heal them. Rufus meeting Mateo was probably one of the best things that could happen to them. The author did a great job with writing the characters and adding suspense, friendship, and angst between all the characters. He added side characters that give us more perspective on others instead of just Mateo and Rufus. His dialogue between the characters really speak for the characters personalities and they added good word choice overall.
