What a mind-blowing performance that certainly magnetised the audience! Coming straight from his guts, Rag’n’bone Man’s voice takes us on a poignant yet exquisite journey.

A choir coming to life. A vocal circle gradually spreading through the audience. The Brit Awards 2021 ceremony could not give us a better example of what harmony is, in its most noble sense. Blending Rag’n’Bone Man’s tremulous rough voice with those of the imperial Pink and of a scattered yet powerful choir, Anywhere away from here is a stirring performance.

The perfect explanation of "less is sometimes more". The pure voices of Rag'n'Bone Man and P!nk in perfect harmony, complementing each other, form a perfect whole and softly caress the ears of the audience. A musically flawless performance, yet not a satisfying one: the symbiosis of the music loses its charm with the kitschy, exaggerated, distracting stage design, the singer's unduly large hologram, the dizzying light-shadow interplay. Just like a baroque painting: simply too much.

- Dori

There is something utterly heart-wrenching about watching such strong artists singing with such vulnerability. I was not at the Brit Awards tonight; I was witnessing a rock cracking apart — and revealing the purest diamond that I have ever seen.

When a swanky mafia boss becomes a deeply emotional tenor and Pink reincarnates as a 2010s icon on a fairly fuzzy, gigantesque screen singing a ballad full of pathos while a gospel choir fills the nocturnal prairie with some sort of wolf howling – you know it’s the Brit Awards.

Pampas grass, reduced, romantic piano, solemn wrinkles on Rag’n’Bone Man’s face, then P!nk appears hoovering over the scene and we expect her to start screaming into this musical prairie like the Cowboy in Big Enough. Their whole 4-minute performance recalls the Gospel concert of a Protestant free church but is in fact quite comparable to the wide grasslands from the cowboy meme. Quite impressive at first, but boring and empty for anyone not interested in idyllic harmonies.

Rag’n Bone man and Pink - a garden gnome in a funky fake-fur vest and sunglasses; and the gigantesque Madonna projection in his back.

It could have been the final scene of a fantasy-saga. Dizzy lights, the band in the middle of an pathetically artificial grass field (crop circles and UFOs can’t be far) and the sheer weight of the dispersed choir support this highly sensitive climax of the evening.
