<title>Remake of Brainology: Transforming Students&#39; Motivation to Learn by </title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/alucero42/e50gmqyi9ozf2s74</link>
      <description>Introduction
Research shows that our brains change throughout our lives as a result of learning and experience
The way that students feel about their brains--whether they think they can grow &amp; learn or they think their intelligence is fixed--plays a role in their motivation and school achievement
Fixed mindset: students may feel afraid of challenges and devastated by setbacks
Growth mindset: students may feel excited about challenges and resilient when faced with failures
The article will go on to answer these questions: How do these mindsets work? How are these mindsets communicated to students? And can they be changed?
The article will also go over the negative effects of stereotypes and praise

<title>Our Takeaway: We had a thoughtful discussion on how not only the article explain the fixed and growth mindsets and how one may fall into the fixed one, but also explains how once people are told and realize that the only thing holding them back is themselves, they advance and progress out of their own will power. Society as a whole looks down on failure, which can also circumstantially effect people, when in reality failure should be experiences to bounce back.</title>

<title>Students develop a limited mindset when they are overpraised for things that they do. Often times this can create a fragile outlook and not want to try new things. This holds them back and is not what parents and teachers want. This is &quot;playing it too safe&quot; and sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone to find success</title>
