The Welsh language can help me IQA learners work in Welsh, allowing more opportunity for learners to write in Welsh if they wish.

It would also help support my understanding of Welsh when I observe VCs in Welsh medium settings.

Support our learners with learning and expanding their own Welsh language. We have many learners with English as a Second language, so helping them with Welsh allows them to use it where they live in Wales.

With learners coming from all parts of Wales some may prefer to do parts or their whole qualification in their preferred language (Welsh), as a team and organisation we should be able to accommodate those learners without relying on limited staff members who are fluent.

I feel that the welsh language would help me with my role by being able to support learners that are fluent welsh speakers. It would be able to understand and assess their work if they wanted to complete their qualification in welsh. Sometimes I assess learners at welsh settings, and even though they use both english and welsh, I would have a better understanding when they are speaking welsh.

I think if I can add even a small element of Welsh to any online teaching / workshops etc then first language Welsh speakers may appreciate the effort and for non-Welsh speakers they will see it being used and maybe think of it more as a "living language"/ option to be used.

I feel that the Welsh language would massively help me in my job role. Taking on the role as Aspiration Training's OSCO, my job role is all about communication and engagement with learners, employers and work colleagues internally and externally, which plays a massive part in my role and throughout the business. Building that first relationship with each individual learner, employer and work colleague is absolutely imperative as it stamps each individuals first impression of you and a reflection on the business as a whole. From the repour which I have made with learners, employers and work colleagues since working for Aspiration Training, a percentage of those individuals can speak Welsh either at a competent/advanced level or are completely fluent in the language. I feel that further developing my Welsh speaking skills would and could further develop those relationships which I have already built and consistently building with already existing and also new learners, employers and work colleagues.

I have found that asking learners how or if they incorporate Welsh into their daily life. Some very good responses have been from health and social care, where learners communicate with residents in Welsh, even if it a small amount.

Leaning some welsh has been useful to identify companies. So many nurseries and care settings have similar words in their company names that at first I thought they all belonged to the same chain.

It will potentially open up additional business opportunities in the future.
