The recess activities can be more interactive to increase rate of participation.

Some group don't have enough props as the group size exceed 40.

• Consider a bigger venue as the number of ML students getting bigger.

Some students are able to read confidently after the programme.

Manpower. Teachers in charge of morning programme are unable to conduct i-time or to fulfil the duty of FT twice a week.

Strength: Students learnt a lot of new vocabulary and sparked their interest for learning. They learnt more about culture and traditions.

• Students show great improvement in their reading.

• The teachers in charge of the classroom to be present at least once or to be informed of the attendance weekly (maybe an online document or WhatsApp chat). This will help the teacher to follow up on the students who do not come on time for the session.

AFG: Could we establish an overall plan that outlines the topics and tasks for each session at the beginning of the term? This would help teachers be more oriented and better prepared for each topic.

• to look into use of EdTech, for example e-book to be uploaded onto SLS, students to login, practice reading on their own and once ready, they can upload their reading by the end of the week

• subject teacher to award them with stars if they have submitted reading for the week

Very entertaining and engaging Hari Raya celebration.

Consider engaging outside vendor to be a part of the concert. This will give different exposure to different Arts and culture.

Students were unsure of places that they need to go. No teachers assigned to different classes.

2025 Suggestion:

Consider MT teachers to conduct the different cultural activities in own MT class.

In order to improve reading skills, it is recommended to read aloud before the mother tongue lesson.

1)Buddy tutors for morning RSP.

2)Awards/ recognition via national competition platforms.

Strength: Very interesting programme and a great opportunity for an engaging session with parents and students.

AFG: Usage of tents as part of the theme deco was a distraction during the event. Can consider an alternative prop / item.

Audio books and E-books are well prepared and accessible easily. Book reviews are provided in time.

AFG:

More emphasis and monitoring on Morning silent reading.

Providing some more support in the setting of class room library books.

AFG: We may reinforce classroom reading before the event to gather more input from the children.

A need to review the MTL website and remind and encourage the parents and students to complete the activities.

This will be a good opportunity and exposure for the students to learn more about culture.

Strength: students have opportunities to get know of traditional games.

AFG:

1. To improve on the shared Google Spreadsheet marksheet and prevent accidental deletion of rows or columns.

2. Subject teachers brief and share expectation before the event.

AFG: Could we make it optional for children? Some children and parents are not very interested. They find excuse to skip it or just sit there wasting time.

As a TrIC for Cepat Tepat for 2 years in a row, (3yrs for Rohani) it is very exhausting and demanding to devote 3-4 weeks of night recording during school term which requires extra hours, energy and mental capacity to be able to be the motivators and companions for the participants. Do consider to rotate the participation perhaps once in 2 years or rotate by teachers in charge.

For deepavali celebration, considering the number of staff in the TL department, arranging relief for the TL teachers would be very helpful for the teachers to focus on the recess activities throughout.

Though the parents volunteers were really helpful for the Deepavali recess activities, the TL teachers knew how to carry out and teach the activities to the students.

AFG: The recess activity can be a distraction, as children have only 20 to 25 minutes to eat, including time spent buying food.

• Consider to do it outside curriculum time so that the teachers can devote their time fully without having to run back to class.

• To be more precise in the allocation of groups according to the route. Use different colour routes so that the students are clear in the stations they need to go.

• The Google scoresheet should be briefed to the teachers ahead in advance. Incidents of deleting rows during the event should be avoidable.
