Summary:

This article was made to show both side of the topic of student debt; called The Fallacy of Forgiveness, it gives many details, dates, and examples. The author isn't on a clear side of the argument, but they use a lot of logos (Statistics and facts), they give an equal number of information/ pros and cons for each side. The author starts with how the democratic candidates purposed 640 billion dollars in debt forgiveness (paragraph 1). The author then gives statistics on the demographics of the people with debt (paragraphs 7-10). Throughout the rest of the article the author gives specific details on why or why not. This article is super useful to my topic because if gives a ton of information.

Canceling at Least $10,000 of Student Loan Debt... (Viewpoint)

Summary:

This article was made to try to persuade the reader to be supportive of the elimination of student debt; called Canceling at Least $10,000 of Student Loan Debt..., the author gives two major topics an elaborates on the both of them (Inflation and Cost of living). The author uses logos (numbers and facts) but it is not as convincing because they give only the positive view of the situation. There is definitely a bias towards eliminating student debt, but a weakness is that the author did not use an opposing argument. Overall, the source could still be used in my topic.

Student Loans Lack Consumer Protections (Viewpoint)

Summary:

This article was made to persuade the reader against the elimination of student debt; called Student Loans Lack Consumer Protections, the author has three main topics (Sallie Mae, Consumer Protections, Collection Powers). This author uses logos (facts), though they also left out an opposing argument which makes their argument less convincing since they only give the negative view. There is a clear bias towards keeping student debt, and a weakness is the lack of an opposing argument. This source can be useful with my topic.

This article was made poorly and has many spelling/grammatical errors. It is a mass of random comments from different people. From what I can get the author is against student loan forgiveness. There is not really any rhetorical devices and the article is overall unprofessional. This cannot be used with my topic
