Once somebody wants to apply for a job in the UAE, they must first know what they want to do, and once they do enter UAE, they must give a blood sample. This helps UAE filter out any people with diseases that could harm the residents living here. Deportation could be a result if you have an infectious disease. Anyways, the environmental laws in UAE prohibit ships polluting territorial waters.     Why are they written?
    - The laws are mainly because of religion, since they are very religious, other wise, they wrote these laws for safety for anyone that visits Dubai. For example its illegal to drive while drinking for safety.

    Are there any important statistics available that support their impact on citizens? 
    -1 death and 8 injuries occur every day on the road due to mass traffic in highways.

    -Compare them to similar laws in one other country-are they more or less effective in the UAE?

    - Democracy is more effective and involves the citizens in the law, while Dubai government writes the law without the citizens opinion, and force.

If a law is implied to certain type of people living in the society (Example drivers, mall clothing, etc), and then there are some laws that impact the whole society. These laws help keep everyone equally happy or unhappy to avoid chaos, war, or conflict amongst each other. There is a law in Saudi Arabia, where you have to wear covered clothes when going to outside localities like shops, restaurants, or malls. This law can be harsh for tourists who might not be able to fit this degree.     The drinking laws are more effective in the UAE than the US as most driving related accidents are caused by the driver being intoxicated in the US. However as the drinking age in the UAE is 21, there are less alcohol related accidents than in the US. 
    Also, in the metro you are not allowed to eat or drink compared to the US, where you are allowed to eat or drink in the Subway. This ensures that the UAE is a cleaner country than the USA, and that hygiene is promoted for health and safety of the residents of the UAE.
