This book reminds me of the show Prison Break, which take place in prison. Someone who's innocent, is arrested, accused for murder and is sentenced to death. It is similar to this novel because Steve is also innocent, and was arrested. At the end of the two stories, t he twowere proven to be innocent.

Steve is anxious and scared, and he believes O'Brien thinks they have lost the case. Her strategy is to distance him from KIng, and put some distance between them, but Briggs, King's attorney, wants the jury to connect Steve and King. The both are afraid, but King tries to show courage and acting tough, as though he's not scared. Two new defense witnesses for King came to testify. Dorothy Moore, his cousin, said that King was with her the afternoon of the crime, but couldn't prove it, because no one saw him with her, and that the lamp he brought her broke. Nipping testified that King is left-handed. Steve took the stand for his defense, to try to break the link between him and King. He said he was working on Mr.Sawicki's film project the day of the crime, and that he wasn't the lookout. He insisted that he wasn't even in the drugstore. Mr. Sawicki believes Steve is a honest, outstanding, compassionate and bright young man, who portrays his neighborhood in a positive way. At the end, Steve was released, and found not guilty. King was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years of life, and Bobo stayed in jail. Osvaldo was arrested for stealing a car and sent to a reformatory. Steve continued to produce movies, in which he says who he is and what he thinks. His father moved away, and the distance between them seemed to grow bigger and bigger. After they had won the case, Steve spread his arms to hug O'Brien, but she moved away. At the end of the book, Steve asks himself what did she saw that caused her to turn away, when she looked at Steve.
