Missing out on a scholarship

Experience: Missing out on a significant scholarship opportunity simply because I submitted my application late was a harsh lesson in responsibility.

Belief: This experience made me believe that I am simply not good at managing deadlines or staying organized.
Action: As a result of holding onto this belief, I often find myself doubting my abilities whenever a new deadline approaches, which ironically leads to more procrastination and stress.
Results: The outcomes of this self-doubt and hesitation are usually added stress, rushed work, and sometimes missing out on great opportunities that could have helped me advance.
Pivot or Keep?: I have decided to pivot this belief, as I now understand that a few past mistakes do not define my capabilities. Instead, I am committed to developing better time management skills and setting myself up for success.

Experience: Failing my first major exam in college was a devastating blow that completely shook my confidence.
Belief: As a result of this experience, I developed the belief that perhaps I wasn’t intelligent enough to succeed in my chosen field of study.
Action: This belief caused me to start procrastinating on my assignments and shy away from taking on challenging courses, fearing that I would fail again.
Results: By acting on this belief, I missed out on numerous opportunities to challenge myself and grow, ultimately limiting my potential and self-confidence.
Pivot or Keep?: I am choosing to pivot away from this belief because I now understand that failures are simply learning experiences, not reflections of my overall abilities.

Experience: Losing a close friend due to a misunderstanding was incredibly painful and left me feeling betrayed.
Belief: This experience led me to believe that opening up and being vulnerable with others could lead to emotional pain, so it was safer to keep my feelings to myself.
Action: Because of this belief, I often withdraw emotionally, avoid deep conversations, and keep people at arm's length, even if I want to connect.
Results: The consequence of acting this way is that I end up feeling isolated and misunderstood, even though I crave deeper relationships.
Pivot or Keep?: I’ve decided to pivot this belief because, although being vulnerable can sometimes result in pain, it is also essential for building genuine, meaningful relationships.

Experience: During a team project, I felt discouraged when my ideas were dismissed, and it made me question whether my contributions were valued.
Belief: This experience led me to believe that speaking up was pointless if others were not willing to listen, and it made me hesitant to share my thoughts in group settings.
Action: As a result of this belief, I often held back during meetings, choosing to stay silent rather than risking my ideas being ignored or rejected.
Results: Unfortunately, this behavior has caused me to miss out on opportunities to contribute meaningfully to projects, gain recognition, and build my confidence in collaborative environments.
Pivot or Keep?: I will pivot this belief and work on being more confident in expressing my ideas because I’ve realized that my contributions are valuable, even if they’re not immediately recognized by everyone.

Belief to Pivot From: I want to change my belief that my ideas are not valuable if they’re ignored by others.
New Belief: Moving forward, I will replace this limiting belief with the understanding that my ideas have worth regardless of others' immediate reactions, and that persistence can eventually lead to recognition and success.
Benefits: By making this change, I foresee gaining more self-confidence in group discussions, which will lead to more active participation, personal growth, and the ability to make more meaningful contributions. This shift will help me build stronger professional relationships and embrace challenges rather than shy away from them.
