They were also inspired by Roman and Greek fashion. People who were born in the age of Enlightenment encouraged more practical and attainable styles.

Also people need to be warmer in the winter, so people could wear warmer clothes. If everybody needs clothes then you would need to buy clothes, thus making money.

If there is more of that clothing then it is cheaper. If it is cheaper then more people with less money will buy it. At the time African Americans didn't make or have a lot of money so they would buy these cheap clothes. Because of all this, these clothes would be in other cultures.
