When the class started the lecturer provided us with the information and it was very interesting to listen to it. I was excited to try and create our webpage to promote a movie or a TV show. We decided that theme will be a coming of age story so I chose a movie called "Paper towns". I loved creating a background image as I have worked with photoshop before and have done similar things. I think I did a pretty good job creating the background images and I was satisfied with how it turned out. A little bit harder part was editing the coding so it would communicate the information I wanted to provide. But with help from the teacher and other students, I think I did a good job as I have never edited a webpage before. There was a vintage art sale at the beach. When I saw it with my flatmates it made us laugh and we decided to get it.

Now, this art piece is an item that reminds Angel and her flatmates of good times, memories that they made together. This is just one of many stories of how vintage item found a new home and a new purpose. It was interesting to hear other students' ideas and opinions, it made listening and remembering key points easier. Our task for this taster had two parts: interview and writing a story. To be honest I am not very good at writing or creating stories and usually I am pretty anxious to question others, because of that I didn’t like the task so much. But besides that it was interesting to learn about journalism and all details that go into it. I think I did a pretty good job, tried my best. Of course, before coming I didn't know what to expect or much about illustration in general. I was curious what will the task will be. The lecturer was very easy-going and made us all feel confident about our ideas and drawing skills. We did some research for our illustration task and then we had to draw on a paper sheet with circles. It was very interesting as I wasn't expecting how many ideas you can get just using a circle and every student had different ideas. After that, we picked an emotion and tried to portray it with our illustration. I picked anger and for that, I used a lemon person with an angry face and made a lemon juice package design. I really liked this task and I am very satisfied with my result. I loved it and it made me think maybe I would like to have a career in TV and film industry. In school I have filmed and edited a couple videos that I did with my classmates for different events, but they weren’t very serious or thought through. But I always liked to take part in making them. I was very excited to do similar thing again. I haven’t seen or read anything about film, how it is filmed, why it is filmed in certain way. It was very interesting to learn these details and how things are called in film world. The lecturer tried to make us engage and think, so it wasn’t boring to listen to her. At one point I even thought about taking a photography course in university. The lecturers were very friendly and explained everything very clearly. I liked learning about the techniques and everything that goes into taking a picture, I found out why some things are attracted to our eyes and mind. The task that we were given looked simple at first but eventually when I started walking around and searching what to photograph it took more time than I expected it to take. I liked seeing everyone’s pictures, it was interesting how everyone interpreted the word closeness in their own way. It was interesting to see how easy it can be to come up with new stories and how everyone’s writing is different.
