The bulk of Penang's Chinese population also send their kids to Chinese schools, which are typically thought of as being more disciplined than conventional public schools. There is nothing particularly noteworthy about my life in primary school because I was not at all an active student. In fact, most of my time was spent simply copying my friends' homework so that I could hang out with them and have fun. I don't think I'll ever be awarded the scholarship. After learning that I passed the selection test and the interview, I can tell that I am incredibly surprised. After my initial excitement started to fade, I began to experience some anxiety because I thought the scholarship was too good to be true. Everything felt surreal to me. For four years, my brother also applied for the scholarship, but he was unsuccessful. He is typically my family's brighter child in comparison to me. Since my second year in high school in Malaysia is almost complete, I felt like coming here and starting again from Secondary 1 will waste my years away repeating two grades. After some recommendations from my parents and my friends, I decided to give it a shot and accepted the scholarship. For the next six years, Singapore will serve as my second home and this made me feel quite unnerving and uncomfortable. Maybe it is the unknown and peculiar things in life that make it interesting and I should have embrace it instead? There are buses and MRTs, which, when compared to other nations' public transport, are extremely convenient. The MRT offers a wide range of train options, some of which are more convenient and affordable than others.
