The stomach break down the food into what we call as chyme before it will move to the duodenum where the other juices will mix with it for absorption in the linings of the Small intestine with the villi.

Then the peristalsis wave will push the food down into the stomach where it will be broken down by the contractions of the muscles in the walls of the stomach and mix with the digestive juices to break it down into chyme before moving down to the Duodenum where it will be broken down after mixing with the bile and other juices.
