In the story it also stated that he was the strongest man in the world but the author gave no specific name </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Epic heros usually display super natural powers, making them "larger than life". In lines 110-111, the author says that Beowolf is "greater and stronger than anyone in the world." Epic heros are also loyal/courageous. In line 109, the author establishes that Beowolf is Higlac's follower, meaning he is loyal to Higlac. Beowolf's courage is illustrated in lines 112-125 when he begins his journey of sailing over to aid Hrothgar and defeat evil Grendel.</div>]]></description>

This shows when he is introduced as "Greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in the world" (line 111). Another instance where his strength is acknowledged is when he is being addressed by Wulfgar. Wulfgar asks Beowulf and his men to "Leave your battle shields here, and your spears". The king does not trust Beowulf and fears he might try to overtake his throne. </div>]]></description>

Two pieces of evidence that shows that Beowulf has these traits of an epic hero is how his people believe he is 'stronger than anyone anywhere in this world' [ line 111 ] so he was destined to win. Also, fate is on his side. This is proven because the elders said he could go help Hrothgar, 'the omens were good, and they urged the adventure on' [ lines 118-119 ] so again, he was destined for victory. </div>]]></description>
